Contact Us Today33 year old Single Mom. Domestic Violence and Rape Survivor. Child of an Addict. Mental
Health Advocate. Two years ago, I was in Florida, far away from any kind of support system, and living in a
nightmare that kept getting worse and worse. The only thing keeping me going was my daughter. My darkest day
came and I packed a bag for myself and my daughter and got on a plane for Seattle. It was the best decision I
have ever made. My daughter is thriving. I started working with Career Pathways, and I met a team of the most
kind and genuine people I have ever known. I joined their family at Tacoma Recovery Center. I became a
Recovery Coach, learned how useful data is for funding behind the scenes, and started training to help with
that. I spend most of my time coordinating that data, and helping my teammates with administrative work. In
August, I take my Domestic Violence Counselor Certification class. I love every aspect of this work. Part of
my ongoing recovery is self improvement. I am in there to learn how healthy relationships work and to learn
how to love myself again. I hope to help and be an example to people escaping domestic violence. We have to
work for it but, we DO recover.
